The Hollow Grounds

A rolling, up and down hill links-style course. Despite its wide open appearance, it is quite difficult. Tall grasses line the fairways (sometimes splitting it) and surround the greens. Deep sand traps are in “all the wrong places”, if you are off slightly on your shot, you will likely hit one. Large marsh/water hazards will also tempt you to “go for it”, when it may be wiser to play it safe. |

There are five holes where water comes into play on this course making it a challenge unto itself. |

Spyglass Hill Golf Course takes its name from Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel, Treasure Island. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Spyglass Hill features two distinctly different kinds of terrain that influence the way the holes look and play. The first five holes roll through sandy seaside dunes challenging the golfer to carefully pick the safest path. The following 13 holes are cut through majestic pines with elevated greens and strategically placed bunkers and lakes to grab the errant shot.
